The Mission is a solitaire grand strategy game covering almost 1,300 years of Christian history, from the Crucifixion to the Crusades. Each turn spans several decades.
The player spreads the faith through missions, Bible translation and the founding of universities, hospitals and monasteries, while facing heresies, schisms, barbarian invasions and the rise of Islam. The game culminates with the Crusades and the Reconquista. At heart it is a war of ideas, combining strategy and resource management, including Holy Relics.
